Anti-Inflammatory Ginger Smoothie

Whether you’re having a flare day or you’re just looking for something to help knock down the constant widespread pain – this Ginger & Berry smoothie has your back. The ginger, berries, celery and leafy greens all contain a wide variety of powerful anti-inflammatory compounds to help keep pain and inflammation in check.

You can add whichever kind of berries tickle your fancy, but we strongly recommend blueberries. These delicious berries are packed with various phytonutrients that acts as powerful antioxidants to hunt and destroy cell-killing free radicals in the body. Additionally, blueberries have been shown to help improve brain health and memory – an added bonus for anyone dealing with the cognitive difficulties of fibro fog.

Recipe:

3 tablespoons hemp protein powder
Small piece of ginger (approximately 2-3 inches, peeled)
2 cups of leafy greens (kale, collards, spinach, etc.)
1 cup of celery
1 cup of mixed frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, etc)
½ cup water

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
