This Blueberry Burst Smoothie will give you a lasting burst of energy as well as help your body fight inflammation. Blueberries are rich in antioxidant phytonutrients that attack cell-destroying free radicals in the body. In addition their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits, blueberries are good for cognitive health, cardiovascular health and eye health.
The D-ribose in this smoothie will aid the blueberries in giving you a sustained lift in energy. D-ribose is a naturally occurring carbohydrate that boosts muscle energy and is used to fight chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and coronary artery disease.
Recipe:
- 10 raw almonds
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (may substitute with berry of you choice)
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp rice protein powder
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp D-ribose
Grind nuts in coffee grinder or food processor. Combine nuts with all other ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth.
